Macedonian Regiment in Ukraine

Macedonian regiment in Ukraine (10. ⅴ 1759 – 28. ⅵ 1773) – Regiment in the Russian army in Ukraine. He was formed by Major Simeon Pistcevic, on the orders of Russian Empress Elisaveta Petrovna. The official appointment of the regiment was “Macedonian” Gussarsky Verfi, Regiment “, under the command of General Ivan Horvat. Later, the regiment commander became Aleksandar Dimitrov. The regiment was composed of about 4,000 people, had its own seal, with a special uniform (coat and pants yellow, interspersed with black gates, red cap), with Macedonian two crossed spears. By 1776 The regiment had a back with an emblem of a lion, taken from the Stamatography of H. Zafarovich. The regiment and the three were also special flags. In 1773 The false names of the regiments were abolished and were renamed to cities. The Macedonian regiment was named as alexandrian regiment. The regiment was praised and rewarded by Elisabeth Petrovna and Ekaterina ⅱ. Several officers from the Macedonian regiment received general ranks in the Russian army.
