Macedonian, Dimitar Vasilev

Macedonian, Dimitar Vasilev (village Embore, Kopalian, Aegean part of Macedonia, Greece, 1847 – Istanbul, 20. 1898) – Macedonian textbook, teacher, social and publicist. After the primary Greek education in the native village, he goes to his father in Constantinople and learns in the Great National School, in the Greek-French Lying and Bulgarian Dimitar Macedonian School. It publishes three textbook “of the Macedonian dialogue”: “Primer for use in Macedonian schools” (1867) – a joint edition with the Ohridian Dimitar Hr. Uzunov (1842-1887), “Short Sedacent History for Schools in Macedonia (on a Macedonian caller)” (1867) and the translation of Greek “shortened Orthodox cathihisis” (1868). Then teach in Vlaho-Gorge, Voden, Struga and Bitola. Almost a year (1870) resides in Constantinople, along with the Voden Pride F. GOGOV, to act for inclusion of Macedonian dioceses in the newly established Slavic church and for the election for bishop of the then president of the Vodina Municipality of Pavel Bozhgropski. He becomes a teacher at the school at the Bulgarian Church in Constantinople (1871), then at the school in the Volga (1872) and a “movable teacher” for the Macedonians in the surrounding neighborhoods (1873). He writes in the Constantinople press and polemized with the editor of the c. “Makedonija” P. R. Slavejkov around the Macedonian question. He leaves Constantinople and becomes a teacher in the main school in Bitola (1873-1874), followed by the “Bulgarian-Romanian bookstore” in the city (1875-1876). After the Russian-Turkish war (1877/78) emigrated to Bulgaria. First is a teacher at the Jewish school in Sofia (1879), then an assistant prosecutor of the Sofia District Court (1882), president of the Kyustendil District Court and an auditor in the Ministry of Education.
