Lichenoski, Lazarus (Galichnik, 28. 1901 – Skopje, 10. ⅳ 1964) – L. Lichenoski: “Naving stone” positions of the Macedonian modern painting. He had a great role and influence on the development of fine arts in our country. He studied at the Art School in Belgrade (1921-1927). From 1927 to 1929 He studied painting at Andre Lot and Fresco painting at Marcel Lenoir in Paris. He was a member of the Belgrade group form. Since 1945 He participated in all exhibitions of DLUM and the hearing. One of the founders of the Art School in Skopje (1945), on which he taught and was director of 1956 to the end of life. Member of Sanu (1963). Among the first wrote art criticism and essays. He exhibited independently in Skopje, Belgrade, Zagreb, Novi Sad. Great retrospective exhibition of his work Bi-La organized in Skopje (MoCA, 1998). His painting stylish ranges from academic realism to colorful expressionism. At the exhibition in Skopje (1927) he exposed works in the spirit of the academic tradition. Pictures from the Paris period refer to the moderate cubism of Lot and the monumental figure of Picasso. His most significant works dated from the period of the thirties, when he began to paint motives from the Macedonian region (Bacilo, 1933, Dolap, 1937), dominated by a broad expressive move and rich color solutions, materialized in dense and juicy invoice. Picture portraits, landscapes, dead natures (portrait of Trevalian, 1931; Fish, 1939; popions, 1948; Radozda, 1952). He also dealt with fresco painting, mosaic (Albanian Golgotha, Corfu, 1940) and tapestry.
