Lassimah

Lisimah (LSSIMACHOS) (Pela, OK 350 – Kuropedion, in Lydia, 281 BCE) – Macedonian General, Somatophilax of Aleksandar ⅲ Macedonian and one of the diados after his death. He received the management of Thrace and the Herzonese peninsula. Later, Hellenian colonies on the west coast of the Black Sea and expanded the territory to the mouth of the r. Danube. He participated in the fighting of Cassander’s coalition, Selevk and Ptolema against Antigon ⅰ One-one (315 BC). He founded his new capital, the city of Lassimah (309 BCE) later, following the example of other diaados, he declared king (306 BCE). In the Battle of Ipsos (301 BCE), together with Selevk, he defeated Antigon ⅰ and took over the North and Central Asia Minor. In agreement with the epirite king Pyrrh, he attacked Macedonia and conquered the eastern Macedonian territories to the R. Vardar (288 BCE). After the acquisition of Macedonia and Thessaly without a struggle, squeezing Demetric polyoret (285 BCE), he declared the king of Macedonia (284 BC). He died in battle against Selevk.
