Kukubaian, Mary

Kukubayian, Mary (Stip, 27. ⅳ 1950) – poet, essayist, literary critic and translator. She graduated from the Faculty of Philology (English Philology with German) in Skopje, and specialized comparativistic at the University “Erlangen” in Nuremberg in Germany (1972). Masters degree at the California State University “Chico” in the United States (1976), received an honorary doct-Maria Kucubaian Rat by literature from the Academy of Arts and Culture at the World Congress of Poets in Marrakech in Morocco (1984), and specialized in Mediterranean and Maltese literature of Maltese University in La Valette of Malta (1985). She was engaged as an assistant in creative writing at the California State University; Lecturer in English at the Garjunis University of Benghazi in Libya; Culture Assistant at the Cultural Center of the US Embassy in Belgrade; Director of the American International School in Macedonia and the Special Development Program. She participated in several international congresses, symposia and writer’s meetings in the world; He investigated and published papers in the field of literary theory, history and culture and cultural anthropology. He is the author of poetrybires and numerous translations from both different languages, and also from Macedonian.
