Jimrevski, Boriva Todorov

Jimrevski, Borivo Todorov (Kumanovo, 27. ⅳ 1940) – ethnomusicologist, ethnorganologist. He graduated from the Music Academy in Belgrade (1967). One period worked in Radio Skopje (1967-1974). Then he was employed (1974) at the Institute of Folklore “Marko Cepenkov” as an assistant researcher of folk music instruments and instrumental folk music. PhD (1992) with the topic “The Gid in Macedonia, instrument – instrumentalist – music”. He wrote over 40 expert papers who participated in several international congresses and symposia. He performed extensive field surveys that resulted in over 4,000 recorded entries, 1,678 melography, 1,265 original photos. He published several books. Head is the monographic project “Folklore in Kumanovo and Kumanovo” (2000). He gave a significant contribution to the organization of several folklore festivals, centuries, seminars and lectures.
