Imeri, Imer (v. Cegrane, Gostivar, 29. ⅷ 1942 – Skopje, 29. ⅵ 2008) – doctor, specialist in general medicine and politician. He completed the Teacher School, and then graduated from the Pedagogical Academy (Chemistry and Biology Group) in Skopje, after which he worked as a teacher in the village. Tarnovo, Gostivar. For highlighting the Albanian flag in Gostivar (1968) endured a five-year prison sentence. After leaving prison, he worked for some time as a physical worker. He later graduated at the Medical Faculty in Pristina (1975-1981), after which he worked as a doctor in Pristina (1981-1989). He was one of the initiators for the establishment of the Democratic League of Kosovo. After staying without work, he returned to Macedonia. He was Deputy Minister of Health in the Government of the Republic of Macedonia (1993). As chairman of the Party of Democratic Prosperity (2000) he was a signatory of the Declaration of Albanian political leaders (with A. Xhaferi and A. Ahmeti) for their program requirements for changing the political system in Macedonia (Prizren, 22. ⅴ 2001). At the meeting with President Boris Trajkovski, along with A. Xhaferi, filed a draft for the Federalization of Macedonia after the example of Bosnia (17. ⅵ 2001) and was a signatory of the Ohrid Framework Agreement (13. ⅶ 2001). Immediately thereafter, for health reasons, he withdrew from political life and worked as a doctor in the ambulance in his native village.
