Filov, Bogdan

Filov, Bogdan (Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, 28. 1883 – Sofia, 1. ⅱ 1945) – archaeologist and art historian, problashist prime minister and regent of Bulgaria. Ends classical gymnasium in Sofia. He studied at the Universities in Visburg, Leipzig and Freiburg, where classical philology, old history and archeology. Bogdan Filov Pheoburg said in Freiburg. Since 1920 is the director of the National Museum in Sofia. Since 1936 he was elected professor of history and archeology of classical peoples at the University of Sofia. It studies the sources, the epigraphic monuments, the artistic ancient heritage of the space of Thrace and Macedonia and the influences of Hellenic culture on the barbarian peoples and their creation. He is the founder of the scientific discipline tracology. In 1916, along with J. Ivanov, surrounds Macedonia, starting from Melnik through Strumica and Bitola to Ohrid, studying medieval fortresses and churches. Together with Scorpil in 1927 He revealed the studies of the famous necropolis at Trebeniste near Ohrid and set the findings in a chronological and cultural framework, from which further is not deviated in science, but also complement his conclusions with new insights.
