Filipovski, Gjorgji Stefanov (village Sorovich, Lerin, Aegean part of Macedonia, WG, 6. ⅴ 1919) – University professor, academician. Primary school and gymnasium ends in Bitola. His capital work is “Soils of the Republic of Macedonia” in 6 volumes published by MANU. Other monographs should also be mentioned for the degradation of the soils of the Republic of Macedonia for the classification of the soils of the Republic of Macedonia, for the Climate-Vegetation Regions in the Republic of Macedonia, etc. Thanks to him and his associates, the soils of the Republic of Macedonia are among the most abundant in the Balkans.
