Faculty of Philosophy Skopje – An high school and scientific institution in the field of social sciences, on which educated mainly teaching staff for work in pre-school, primary and secondary education. The Faculty of Philosophy is the first national higher education and scientific institution starting the constitution and development of the first Macedonian University – University “St. Cyril and Methodius “in Skopje. It was established directly after the liberation of Macedonia, and for the official start of his work was declared December 16, 1946, when the first lectures were held. The Faculty of Philosophy is formed with a primary task to prepare teachers in general education cases for secondary education, which at that time felt a special need. The young Macedonian state, together with the political goals for creating a free and contemporary state, as the primary national task and one of the basic assumptions of the national and in general of human emancipation, has also asked the question of the entrusting of the people. Study programs are organized on three levels: undergraduate, postgraduate (specialist and master) and doctoral studies. As of 2006 The Faculty of Philosophy graduated 10,466 students. 330 Masters and 266 doctoral dissertations are selected. The faculty has a library fund of over 180,000 books and other editions. Since 1948 The Faculty of Philosophy issues its own “Annual Proceedings”, which publish scientific articles from teachers and associates at the faculty.
