Athens (Athens, 389 BCE – Samos, 314 BC) – politician, chief protagonist of the Macedonian Party in Athens. The political activity begins after the conquest of Olint (349) of Philip ⅱ, when the Council and the Parliament supports the proposal for resistance against Philip ⅱ, but soon goes on to the side of the plutocrats, who want peace with Philip ⅱ. As an Athens MP participates in several peace agreements with Philip ⅱ; Twice travels with Athens MPs in Pela at King Philip ⅱ. After the victory of Philip in Hayronic (338), he participates in the peace agreement between the Helleni and Philip. After the speech “against Ktshon” (330), the Assembly of Athens accuses it and punishes it with expulsion from the city; Go to Ephesus, and after the death of Alexander he moved to Rhodes; dies in the persecution of Samos.
