Davchev, Penccho Jordanov (Veles, 15. ⅵ 1922 – Skopje, 25. Xi 1995) – Internist gastroenterologist, regular prof. of honey. f. In Skopje, academician. Graduated from honey. f. in Belgrade (1948). Specialization in internal diseases ended in 1952. Defended the habilitation labor “Attachment to the biological diagnostics of functional and organic illnesses of the stomach” (1957). For a regular prof. He was elected in 1969 He was prophelled in two mandate periods, dean of honey. f. And the head of the Department of Internal Medicine. He perfected in clinics for gastroenterology in Paris, London and Berlin. Under his immediate leadership is organized. For gastroenterology, part of the internal clinic, which later became a modern clinic for gastroenterology and hepatology, one of the leading in the then Yugoslavia. He was the founder of modern gastroenterohepatology in the Republic of Macedonia. From the introduced new methods, the interventional transabeminal wirsungography performed under the control of echo, visualizing the bile roads through direct finding of a contrast agent under the control of echo “Real Time”, technique using a thin and fine needle, biopsion techniques of abdominal organs with suspicious pathological creations, endoscopic research on the gastrointestinal tract, liver and peritoneum. In doing so, the basic and main preoccupation is hepatocellular cancer and viral hepatitis, which is affirmed in the Yugoslav medical scientific public and abroad. His special scientific contribution is the study of liver cancer especially associated with B-viral infection. The clinic formed an immune laboratory for examination of hepatitis B and C antigens in histological clippings of liver tissue. He contributed to the use of endoscopy in gastrointestinal diagnostics, as well as in the treatment of the asotite in liver cirrhosis, for which the monograph also issued. He was president of MMA, member of the Editorial Board of the MMP magazines and “ACTA Medica IUGHAZA”. The founder of Gastroenterology section of MMA was its president for more than 20 years, chairman of the Association for Gastroenterology of Yugoslavia and organizer of several congresses and symposia. For its successful and very fertile work, there has been many recognitions. The author and co-author is more than 400 scientific and professional papers in our and foreign medical journals. He is the author of the textbook “Clinical Gastroenterology”, the monograph “Manual by endoscopy and biopsy in gastroenterology” and “newer views in the treatment of the cirrhic ascites with a special emphasis on the hard-line form”. Co-author is the Yugoslav edition of a textbook after Gastroenterology and Hepatology (1990). He managed two scientific project in MANU. For a correspondent member of MANU, he was elected 21. ⅻ 1983, and for a full member of 7. ⅹ 1988. He was secretary of the MANU’s biological science department (1992-1995). VL. S.
