Cesmegiev, Joseph

Cesmegiev, Joseph (Skopje, 8. 1890 – Sofia, 28. 1964) – Composer and folklorist. He was educated in Skopje, Kumanovo, Thessaloniki and Constantinople. The Thessaloniki was a pupil of Atanas Badev. He created the first musical compositions in Constantinople, at the beginning of ⅹⅹ c. Short period Teached in Skopje, and in 1909 He went to Leipzig, Germany, where the conservatory studied composition in the famous Max Regigger. After the end of the Leipzial Conservatory, in 1913. briefly worked in Vidin and in Yambol (Bulgaria). He wrote more compositions, including two operas – “Meglena” and “The Secrets of Vardar”, which was created in 1920, but did not suffer to be performed.
