Buckovski, Vlado (Skopje, 2. ⅻ 1962) – Lawyer, UNIV. Prof and politician. He graduated from the Faculty of Law (judicial direction) in Skopje (1986), where he was a master’s degree (1991), and received his doctorate on the topic “Roman and Modern Pledge Law” (1998). First was an expert associate in the Assembly of the SRM (1987-1988), followed by an assistant (1988-1998), assistant (1998) and associate professor (2003) on the course of Roman law at the Faculty of Law in Skopje. He was a member of the State Election Commission (1998-2000), chairman of the City Council of Skopje (2000-2001), a spokesperson and vice president of SDSM, MP in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Minister of Defense in the broad coalition government (13. – 26. XI 2001) and after the victory of SDSM and its coalition partners in the parliamentary elections (2002) became a member of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia and Minister of Defense (1. XI 2002 – December 2004), as well as President of the Legal Council of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia ( 15. IX 2003), After being elected as the leader of SDSM (26. Xi 2004), the same day was entrusted the mandate to form a new government (after the resignation of the previous Prime Minister Hari Kostov), and then the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia has chosen as president of The Government of the Republic of Macedonia (15th ⅻ 2004 – 27. ⅷ 2006). Under his leadership, the Coalition for Macedonia together, led by SDSM, suffered a defeat of the parliamentary elections (2006), which was asked to resign from the post of SDSM president, but he rejected the request. At the party conference (7th ⅹ) was distributed and withdrew from the presidential place in SDSM.
