Slaveski, Trajko (Ohrid, 22. 1960) – Economist, university professor, Minister of Finance in the Government of the Republic of Macedonia. He graduated (1983), Master’s Degree (1988) and Ph.D. (1997) at the Faculty of Economics in Skopje. He graduated and postgraduate studies at the California State University of Chico, the United States (1986 & 1987) and the Universa Trajko Slaveski Tot Harvard (1989 & 1990). He was a visiting professor at Arizona State University (1997) and professor at the postgraduate studies of South-Easter European Studyus of the National Capodistrian University in Athens, Greece (1999 & 2006). He was elected as an associate professor (March 2003) at the Faculty of Economics in Skopje on the subjects of macroeconomics and state regulation. He participated in a number of international scientific gatherings. The author and co-author of five books and a number of articles published in the country and abroad in the field of microeconomics and macroeconomics, the political economy of transition, privatization and economic restructuring, business and government, economic growth, economic and social and social functions of the state, The economics of the workforce, etc. He was the head of several government projects, which emerged the government’s medium-term strategy for development and reform “Macedonia 2003” (2000) and the National Strategy for Poverty Reduction (2002). He is a member of several international research networks and president of the Executive Board of the NGO AME (Association for Modern Economics) based in Skopje and Tetovo. He was Minister of Development in the Government of the Republic of Macedonia (1999 & 2000), Advisor to the Minister of Finance (2000 & 2002), National Coordinator for the preparation of the National Strategy for Poverty Reduction (November 2000, 2002), Vice President of VMRO-DPMNE (16th ⅴ 2005 & 17. ⅲ 2007) and Minister of Finance in the Government of the Republic of Macedonia (2006 & 2009).
