Miyachic

Mijah – an area in the western part of the Republic of Macedonia. It occupies the Lower River areas and a small river. There are 23 singing villages found on the western and southwest slopes of Mount Bistra and the valley of the Radika River. In the villages of a small river, Mijaki, Orthodox Macedonians live, and in Lower River Mijaki-Torbeshi, who are Islamed Macedonians. In the past, large-scale villages were Galichnik and Lazaropole, and today it is scattered and Rostushe. Until the arrival of the map of the Turks, all Mijaki were Orthodox Macedonians. Islamization began in the second half of ⅹⅴⅰ c. In ⅹⅴⅰⅰⅰ c. The emigration of the masses from the mother landscape in other areas in Macedonia begins. Then the villages Oresh and Papradishte (Veles), Echlovet (Kichevo), Smilhevo (Demir Hisar), and one part of them settled in Krushevo. Besides the Mijaki Christians, the Mijaki Torbeshi moved. They moved to the Skopje area of ​​Torbeshia, as well as in the Veles villages of Gorno Vranovci, mill and sod. Living in compact rural environments they managed to preserve their ethnic characteristics, such as language, customs, folklore, etc. The population in the Mijak region has always dealt with animal husbandry.
