Markovic, Darko (Dar-Mar) (Skopje, 18. 1940) – cartoonist and film worker, exceptional contribution to the modernization and transformation of caricature and her affirmation abroad. He is one of the most important authors of the animated film. It has a decisive merit for the formation of the World Gallery of Cartoons in Skopje. He was independently presented in MANU and MoCA in Skopje, with cartoons and art objects (1980). In the caricature creates an individual style, with precise stylized drawing and use of painting techniques. Particularly successful are the cartoons dedicated to the figures in the field of culture (Dimce Koco, Dimitar Kondovski, Vangel Naumovski). Works and satirical comic (famous hero Peckko). He graduated from architect in Skopje (1966), and then specialized by an animated film in Zagreb (1972). The film actively deals since 1975, when employed in “Vardar Film”, opening the studio for an animated film. Since 1978 works as a free artist. His filmography consists of more than 30 animated films, of which more than 20 are produced by “Vardar Film”, and others have been worked for television Skopje and / or in “Macedonia film”.
