Mavrovski Memorial – ski running competitions in various disciplines, which are traditionally held in memory of the dead workers from avalanches in the construction of the Mavrovo hydropower plant (since 1960). So far held 43 times (until 2005). At first, the greatest successes had Arso Avakumovski and Dimitar Smilevski from the Ski Club “Momir Andonovski” from Mavrovo, and later other skiers, especially from SK “Mechkin Knot” in Krushevo and SK “Pelister” in Bitola.
