Yekic, Milan Nicholas

Yekic, Milan Nicholas (village Manjelos, Sremsky Mitrovica, Serbia, 11. X 1912 – Skopje, 9. ⅶ 2004) – University professor. He finished elementary school, a gymnasium in Novi Sad, and the Faculty of Agriculture in Zemun (1939), where he was elected assistant in agrochemistry. From 1941 to 1945 He was in a camp in Germany. After the liberation (1945-1947) returns to the old job. In 1947 He was elected a teacher of agrochemistry at the Faculty of Agriculture Faculty in Skopje, where he is retired as a full-time professor (1979). PhD in Zemun on the topic of the influence of macro and microelements on the yields and quality of the haystacks of the highly mountain lawns of Bistra. Freelance taught and agricultural faculties in Sarajevo and Pristina. He published 110 scientific papers in the field of agrochemistry, nutrition and plant physiology that relate to issues from Macedonia. He participated in a number of international scientific gatherings. He is also credited with the strong increase in the use of mineral fertilizers in Macedonia and for the first scientific research of that Obestra in our country. F. F.
