World Cup in basketball – world basketball game. The organizer of the sixth World Basketball Championship was Yugoslavia (1970). The matches were held by groups with 4 representations in Sarajevo, Split and Karlovac (10-0 May). After two first, teams formed “A” -group, in which Yugoslavia entered the host. They continued the matches in Ljubljana, where Yugoslavia conquered the first place and became a world champion. Other teams: Australia, Canada, Korea, Cuba, Poland and Egypt formed “B” -group and competed in Skopje (16-23 May) for a ranking of 8-14th place. D. S.
