Volleyball in Macedonia

Volleyball in Macedonia. For the first time it is played in Gevgelija from French troops (1918). She was cherished in the Sokolsal Organization, and competitions for the championship of the companies, Zupi and SSKJ (1930-1941) were held. After the liberation, sections were established (Clubs of 1948) in major cities. The first republic championship was held in Bitola (1946), and then a volleyball union of Macedonia (1950) was established, renamed Federation (2002). Bi-La established a republic league with 8 clubs (1959). In the Cup of Seniori republics in Skopje (1972) Macedonia won the first place, as well as for juniors in Modrichic (1975). OK “Vardar” from Skopje won the first place in Yugoslavia for Juniors (1974) and Seniori (1976), and in the Cup of European Champions he took the fourth place. The club played in the first Federal League (1967-1992), as well as “Rabotnicki” from Skopje. There were many clubs from the Republic and in the second Federal League. The first representative of Yugoslavia was Taki Bujkovski, then Nikola Donev, Trifun Trifunovski, Vladimir Bogoevski, Aleksandar Tasevski, Goran Srbinovski.
