Vaccination in Macedonia – A system for routine vaccination against certain infectious diseases based on legislation. In the history of the implementation of compulsory immunization, from 1944 onwards, we recorded two periods – one campaign way of vaccination that lasted until 1960, and then continuous vaccination. In 1948 The federal law has been mandatory vaccination with a BSG vaccine in all children and youths up to 18 years, and since 1950. vaccination of newborns. With vaccination against diphtheria and tetanus, in 1951, and in 1960 the vaccination against the big cough and childhood paralysis was introduced. Mandatory vaccination against masters is introduced at the end of 1971, and since 1982. Two more vaccines are placed on the list of mandatory immunization – mumps and reddish vaccine (rubella). After a long period of 22 years, in 2004 Mandatory vaccination of every newborn with a vaccine against hepatitis B is introduced. The effects of the long-standing successfully conducted vaccination in our country (continuous high scope above 90% and 95% for individual vaccines) are excellent and visible. Within the framework of the WHO’s global efforts for eradication of children’s paralysis in 2002 RM (as part of the European region) received a certificate of eradication of this disease in its territory.
