Urosevic, Atanasie (Gnilane, 14. 1898 – Belgrade, 16. H 1992) – UNIV. Professor, geograph. Secondary education ended in Skopje, where he graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy, the geographical-ethnological group. He received his doctorate in Belgrade (1929), and then he was elected assistant professor of geography at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje. He spent the Second World War as a military prisoner in Germany. In 1946 He is invited by the Government of the NRM to cross the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje as an associate professor. He founded the geographical instalasier Urosevic Tut and was his head with “until retirement (1964). He taught physical geography and cartography, and for these courses also published textbooks. From 1964 to 1968 He is a professor at the University of Pristina, where he founded the Department of Geography. He then moved to Belgrade and there is director of the Ethnographic Institute at Sanu (1971-1973). He was elected as a correspondent member of Sanu (1963), and then for a regular member (1978). He is the founder of the geographical society of Macedonia and his long-time president. He has published more than 100 scientific and professional papers.
