Uprising of carasha

Uprising of Cararah (Younger) (1854) – an uprising that broke out great influence of the Crimean war (1853-1856). Karashah with a larger group of Macedonian, Greek and Vlach volunteers (originally in Macedonia), by boat from Greece arrived at Halkidik and caused the uprising of Lon-Goss (IV 1854). The uprising spread in other parts of Macedonia. Karashabon issued a proclamation to the population in Macedonia with a call for a general uprising. The rebels managed to arrive to central parts of Halkidik. For the suppression of the uprising, the Ottoman state was supported by France, whose military vessels established Halkidik’s naval blockade. Near the polygiros rebels were attacked by the Ottoman army units and were forced to withdraw to Mount Athos. Menal rebels were powerless to continue fighting. After a prior agreement on French protection, the rebels stopped the action and transferred to Greece (ⅵ 1854).
