Typology of forests

Typology of forests – Applied forestry discipline that deals with defining and classifying forest compositions, ie forest types. A type of forest is an intermediate forest composition, which in certain economic measures offers optimal production of wood mass per quantity and quality in the period of technical maturity. Basic Types of typology are delineatment of compositions, determining the quality of the soil and productivity of the habitat. The typology is served with various methods, depending on the natural conditions and the extent of their research. There is Finland, Ukrainian, Leningradska, Czech Republic, German, Austrian method, etc. In Macedonia, the separation of the composition is carried out by phytocenological methods, and lower units are two in pedological methods and in each such unit is an estimate of productivity for dendrometric methods. Types are appointed on behalf of the association and after some of the indicator species. Each type is specifically described, and all together represent a typological basis.
