Thessaloniki Vilet (1867-1912) – Administrative-territorial unit in the Ottoman Empire, established in 1867, with a center in Thessaloniki. In the beginning, he was composed of Sunjaki: Thessaloniki, Tirhala, Serez and drama. S “Until the formation of the Bitola (1873) and the Kosovo (Skopje) Vilaya (1877), in his composition, the Sunjaki were entered, Bitola, Debar, Elbasan and Skopje. Later, this vilayet was made only by three Sandzici: Thessaloniki, Serez and Drama and stretch exclusively on the Macedonian territory. In 1885 It lived about one million inhabitants, of which 51% were Muslims, 45% Christians and about 4% Jews. Within Sandzak Thessaloniki, a total of 14 Kazi included: Thessaloniki with Zahi Vardar and Kalamary; Enze Vardar with the Karadzy Abbad spray; Ber with the Higstos (Neurush). Sandzak Serez was composed of 8 Kazi: Serez, Zhyhne, Demir Hisar, Petrich, Melnik, Neurocrop, Razlog, Upper Jumia, while within the Sandkak drama entered only 4 Kazi: Drama, Sari Shaban and Kavala.
