Theodore and Angel (OK 180/85 – After 1253) – Epilic Ruler and Thessaloniki King (1214-1230). A vibrant and ambitious ruler, set a goal of winning the Customs city and renew Byzantium. He defeated the Latines in the Albanian gorges (1217), he won Thessaloniki (1224). For King, he was crowned by the Ohrid Archbishop Dimitri Homatian. Macedonia was a central district in his country, and Ohrid, the center of spiritual and cultural life. He was defeated and was captured by the Bulgarians in the battle of the Quit (1230).
