The uprising of Dervis King (1843) – The uprising of the Albanian population in Macedonia against the Central Ottoman authorities due to the introduction of a mandatory recruitment for all Muslims and the implementation of reforms proclaimed by Gulhanhouse Hatishherif (1839). The uprising led the manager of Gostivar, Dervis King. The rebels took over Gostivar, Tetovo, Kumanovo, Kriva Palanka, Pristina, Vranje, entered Skopje, but failed to take the coal.
