The United States and Macedonia

United States and Macedonia (links and relations) (1876-). In the Second World War, the United States sent its military mission at the main headquarters of the Macedonian army, supported and recognized the creation of the Macedonian National State Democratic Federal Macedonia in DFJ (1944), officially announced by the head of the mission of the Second Session of ASNOM. After the proclamation of the state autonomy of the Republic of Macedonia, the United States was solidarizing with Greece on the non-recognition of state independence under the constitutional name and for its adoption in the UN under the name of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, under which the name and established diplomatic relations. After the change of attitude, the United States recognized RM under its constitutional name.
