United States and Macedonia (links and relations) (1876-). If the activity of US Protestant missionaries in Macedonia is excluded, the United States showed more pronounced interest in the time of the eastern crisis on the basis of the notices of the US Consular Agency in Thessaloniki for the events in Macedonia and the Constantinople Conference (1876-1877), when it was prepared and was presented Proposal for autonomy of Macedonia. The attitude of the United States towards Macedonia and the Macedonian issue at the beginning of ⅹⅹ c. In the United States, there was a pro-Macedonian movement and US diplomacy after the uprising stood for more radical reforms in Macedonia, but it directly did not engage. At the time of holding the Peace Conference in Bucharest (1913), the United States intervened with NATA to the participating governments with a request in the Peace Agreement to enter the provision for guaranteeing rights (civil and religious) of the annexed territories from the Balkan countries. In the Second World War, the United States sent its military mission at the main headquarters of the Macedonian army, supported and recognized the creation of the Macedonian National State Democratic Federal Macedonia in DFJ (1944), officially announced by the head of the mission of the Second Session of ASNOM. After the proclamation of the state autonomy of the Republic of Macedonia, the United States was solidarizing with Greece on the non-recognition of state independence under the constitutional name and for its adoption in the UN under the name of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, under which the name and established diplomatic relations. After the change of attitude, the United States recognized RM under its constitutional name.
