Strumica-Radovish valley

Strumica-Radovish valley – is located in the southeastern part of the Republic of Macedonia, that is, in the upper and middle part of the river basin Strumica. It is formed by the tectonic road, by lowering the land along the scattered lines between the mountains: Belasica to the south, Ograzden, Plachkovica and Goten in the north, Plaus and Smrde in the west. Belongs to the Rhodope mass. It covers an area of ​​1,482 km², and the altitude ranges from 200 meters to 1,881 m. The valley is divided into three parts: Strumica, Radovish and Damian field. The flat part of the valley extends between 200 and 500 m and covers an area of ​​29,000 ha. The Damian field is the highest, and the Strumica is the lowest and north to the mountain Ograzden bottom of the valley increases the altitude. In the west along the valley of the white river and the cast valley, it is connected to the small Popchevo and the Kosturan field. In the east, Strumica field is narrowed east of Novo Selo, between Belasica and Ograzden, the breadth is about 2 km, and then the Strumica River through the key narrow to penetrated the Petrika Valley (Pirin part of Macedonia). After the entire length at the foot of the mountains there are fossilized diluvial deposits, on which several village settlements were built and both city settlements: Strumica and Radovis. The construction of irrigation systems in the valley is enabled to be grown and high yields of early garden crops.
