Social Democratic Union of Macedonia – Political Party, founded on 20. ⅳ 1990. As the successor to the Association of the Communists of Macedonia. In the first parliamentary composition (1990-1994), the party had 31 lawmakers, in the second (1994-1998) 62, in the third (1998-2002) 28, in the fourth (2002-2006) 38 and in the fifth composition (2006-2008) 23 MPs. SDSM formed the Government of the Republic of Macedonia from 1992 to 1998, as well as in the period from 2002 to 2006, and participated in the Government of the Wide Coalition (2001-2002). President of SDSM, from its establishment of up to 24. ⅺ 2004, was Branko Crvenkovski, Vlado Buckovski came, who at 5. ⅺ 2006. was replaced by Radmila Sekerinska. By securing SDSM, the Democratic Party (1993) was established, at Petar Goshev, and the new Social Democratic Party (2006), headed by Tito Petkovski.
