Rostkovski, Aleksandar Arcadevich (Odessa, 1860 – Bitola, 26. ⅷ 1903) – Russian consul and friend of K. P. Misirkov, killed in his presence from a Turkish guard (Albanian) at Ilinden events in Bitola. The diplomatic career begins as the second secretary in Bulgaria, and as secretary and Dragoman of the Russian General Correction in Jerusalem, in Ioannina and then in Beirut, the second secretary of the diplomatic agency in Sofia (1884-1885), Vice-Consul in Brindisi (1894- 1895), Vice-Consul and Consul in Bitola (1895), for some time replaces the Russian consul in Skopje (1899-1901) and death remains in Bitola. It is first encountered by Misirkov at the joint appearance in the Russian geographical society in S.-Petersburg (18. 1897), and then in Bitola as a home teacher of his children (1902/03). It publishes statistical examinations for the population in Bitola (for 1897) and in Thessaloniki Vilet (for 1999), in which the Macedonians treat them not according to church affiliation, but as Orthodox Slavs. Not.: A.
