Primary education in Macedonia – a maternal degree of the educational system, requirement for each type of further education. There is a generally educational character and is mandatory for the population aged 6 to 15 years. The purpose of primary education is to provide students with individual development in conformity with their predispositions and adult characteristics; To adopt knowledge and skills of nature, for society and human and be trained for their application; They develop a sense of responsibility, the truth, the meaning of human labor, the meaning of the beautiful, cultural traditions and awareness of the affiliation of the Republic of Macedonia and to respect and fulfill civil rights and obligations. Primary education is realized in the only nine-year elementary school, organized on three levels: preparatory teaching (1 year), departmental teaching (4) and subject teaching (4). The Constitution of the Republic of Macedonia is guaranteed that every child is guaranteed to receive primary education in the mother tongue. The educational process is carried out in Macedonian, Albanian, Turkish and Serbian.
