Penushlish, Cyril

Penakliski, Kiril (Thessaloniki, 15. 1912 – Skopje 23. ⅴ 2004) – University professor, rector, folklorist. The high school finished in Skopje (1931), and graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy, a group of Yugoslav literature (1938). He received his doctorate at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje with the topic “Stefan Verkovic – a collector of Macedonian folk visi” (1956). At the time of the occupation, he was actively involved in the NOB (he was president of the illegal NOO board of Skopje), and after the war he worked on several important functions – in the Ministry of Commerce, as Secretary General of the University “St. Cyril and Methodius “, professor of philosophical (later Faculty of Philology), Rector of the University” St. Cyril and Methodius “, a member of the Council of the Republic, an honorary member of the Macedonian DPM, etc. He published sixty books, in which the most important issues of the Macedonian folklore were processed.
