Pedagogical academies in Macedonia

Pedagogical academies in Macedonia – Vichy schools for educating teachers for primary schools and educators for pre-school institutions. They arise after school reform (1958), introducing only a mandatory eight-year elementary school, replacing them previously (c.) Teachers’ schools and (c.) Higher pedagogical schools. Pedagogical academies are an expression of endeavors to provide only education for all profiles of teachers performed by teaching in an eight-year elementary school and raise teachers education, high school at the higher school level. In the academic 1961/62 The Higher Pedagogical Schools in Skopje and Stip become pedagogical academies, and in the school year 1964/65, the Pedagogical Academy opens in Bitola. Tuition, as well as in senior pedagogical schools, lasted two years, and departmental and subject teachers were educated. During the implementation of the conception (c.) Directed education, the education of the subject teachers passes on the respective teaching faculties, and pedagogical academies retain education of departmental teachers and pre-school educators.
