Nonarh (Narrechos) (? -312 BCE) – Admiral of Alexander’s fleet ⅲ Macedonian and Pathopisic, originally from Crete, but inhabited in Amphol. He was a friend of Alexander ⅲ since his youth. He accompanied him of the east and was appointed Satrap of Lycia and Pampilia (334/3 BCE). He led the Macedonian fleet composed of about one hundred ship and five thousand soldiers during her return from India (325/24 BCE). He led a diary with everyday notes for the hard sailing from the mouth of the r. Ind to the Persian Gulf, describing people, customs, settlements, flora, fauna, etc., which later served Arian as the main source for his book for India (Indik), and also used Strabon. The successful return of the fleet was awarded with a golden wreath. After the death of Alexander ⅲ (323 BCE) he was in the service of Antigon and the One and his son Demetrius and a polyzet.
