Mountain Division in the Bulgarian army in World War I

Mountain Division in the Bulgarian army in the First World War (1916 – 1918) – established in Macedonia from the VMRO headquarters, on the orders of the German and Bulgarian main command, issued to Aleksandar Protogov (22. ⅹ 1916). The recruits were mobilized mainly from western Macedonia, from Skopje and Pristina. The headquarters was located in Skopje, and later transferred to Ohrid. The formational composition was from three foot with two battalion. The numerous state of the division was: 3,330 Macedonians, 1,200 Turks and 1,200 Albanians. Total 5,730 people.
