Matacic, Lovero

Matacic, Lovero (14. 1899 – Zagreb, 7. ⅶ 1985) – conductor. Although without a formal academic diploma (studied music at the Vienna Conservatory), with its huge talent and erudition, it is among the top European and world conductors. The first contacts with music is experiencing as a member of the choir of Vienna children. The conductor’s career begins in 1919. in an eater opera. Then there are engagements in opera houses in Novi Sad, Ljubljana, Belgrade, Zagreb, Riga and reaches the conductor’s opature of the top world-Lovero Matacic Ski orchestras: Dresden State Chapel, Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic, the Tokli Symphony Orchestra. He was a frequent guest of the great opera houses in Europe and America. On his rich and diverse repertoire, he had a myriad of opera and symphonic works from all epochs in music, starting with Montverdes and ending with Wagner, Bruckner and Strauss, not neglecting the work of the Slavic composers – regarded, Janakov, Tchaikovsky, Zarovic, Zaranovic etc. Especially great and significant is its role in the professional formation and upbringing of the staff – soloists Hristians, orchestrants of the young Macedonian opera. By working in the opera of the MNT (1948-1952) as a director and conductor (abduction from Sarad, Boemes, the magic flute, Carmen, Evgeny One, Nikola Shubic-Zrinski) and with enormous merits for its development with the right can be considered as The spiritual father of the Macedonian Opera.
