Macedonian Central Committee.

Macedonian Central Committee (Geneva, Switzerland, start of 1899) – Committee established by Macedonian intellectuals, students of the local universities, at the initiative of Dr. Georgi Kapchev, in order to represent the interests of Macedonia. The Central Committee announced an “appeal to the protectors of human conscience, righteousness, peace and humanity” (12. and 1899) to save the Macedonian people of terrible terror and from the violence of the Ottoman state regime by creating an autonomous Macedonian state with a center in Thessaloniki. The Committee organized two conferences held in Geneva (17-18. Ⅱ and 19. ⅱ), committed to the situation in Macedonia and to resolve the Macedonian issue.
