Law on Transportation of Toponyms in the Aegean part of Macedonia (1926) – a state measure with which all Macedonian toponyms (names of rivers, mountains, villages and cities) were replaced by Greek. The toponyms that could be translated from Macedonian to Greek were translated, and those who had no adequate Greek replacement were given new Greek names. Greek authorities have changed the names of more than 1,700 seats.
