Krchovski, Joachim

Krchovski, Joachim (village Oslomej. Kichevo, OK. 1750 – 1820) – The first author of the new Macedonian literature. In Kratovo, he was taught for a long time, and before that he studied in Constantinople. Of 1787 He was appointed a priest. About 1807, after the death of a woman, became a monk. He is known as a preacher, who together with the sons of Ge-dear H. Nikolov: Portrait of Joachim Krchovski Orgi and David Krchovski preached in various churches and chapels in northern Macedonia. First time opens a mixed school in Kratovo. He died of one of his travels for awakening and enlightenment of the people. He created his works as a lesson for the people, and in order to be close and understandable, he wrote them in a folk language. He compiled five books that were printed in Budim.
