International audit standards

International audit standards (MRS) – Guides within the harmonization process that started the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and its members. The Committee on International Audit Practice (MPP) has already published 29 guides for international audit practice (until 1990). It became more than clear that global capital markets need audit standards for improving the quality of financial reporting, especially for financial transactions outside the borders of national economies. By accepting the members of the IFAC on the need for change from standards of standards in international audit standards, the CMMP started a comprehensive project of their revision and codification. The MPP issued a network of MRS, which is primarily focused on the audit of the financial statements (1994). The benefits of the use of global MRS by the auditors in the revision of the financial statements were and are still subject to debate in scientific and professional circles. However, despite the permanent present debates for the needs of harmonization of the audit profession, strong support for the application of MRS in the capital markets in the world is evident. MRS have accepted 155 MOC members from 118 countries in the world. Since October 1998 and RM approached the application of MRS, as a substitut of national audit standards. Namely, with the Audit Law of December 1997. Mandatory application of MRS was introduced in the audit of the financial statements of the business entities by the auditors. Under this law, the Ministry of Finance was responsible for translation, updating and publishing of MRS. With the new Audit Law of September 2005 The process of deregulation of the audit profession is opened. The newly selected Institute of Certified Auditors of the Republic of Macedonia from May 2006, and within its framework and the Commission for audit standards, assumed the credentials for updating, publishing and proper implementation of the MRS in the audit practice of the Republic of Macedonia.
