Institute for Sports Medicine. The First Emblem of Sport Medicine is opened at the Institute of Sports (1955-1957), and in the founded Republic Institute for Physical Education (1957) a department for sports medicine with ambulance was established. In a freelance working relationship, Dr. Nikola Hristov worked. The department is joined by the Health Center Skopje and is transferred to the premises of the ambulance “Bucharest”. With the creation of appropriate staffing and spatial conditions, the Department has grown into an Institute for Sports Medicine (1973). It employs a number of medicalists after sports medicine and auxiliary health care staff. The Office carries out systematic health examinations of athletes, and provides other health services.
