Hadzimanov, Vasil (Kavadarci, 14. and 1906 – Skopje, 16. 1969) – ethnomusicologist. Surely educated (studied the legal entity and the Faculty of Philosophy in a white city, Master’s Degree Pharmacy in Zagreb), but he, however, devoted him from the music. Its main contribution consists in the gathering activity. He collected over 8,000 Macedonian and 700 Albanian folk songs. Some of them were the subject of his scientific processing, where he presented his knowledge and conclusions to the Macedonian and international public on a number of scientific symposiums. Part of these songs have been published in several collections. In their scientific papers, there are various topics related to the vocal, instrumental and plain folk tradition. Before the Second World War, he was one of the first Macedonian singers who filmed for Radio Belgrade and performed on several concerts abroad.
