Gulhan Hatishherif (1839) – Act of Sultan Abdul Medzit, which promoted reforms in the Ottoman Empire. The safety of life, honor and ownership of all subjects, religious and political equality of all citizens, regardless of their religious and popularity, abolishing all feudal military formations, allowed the construction of new and renovation of the old churches and monasteries, Organizing church-school municipalities, etc. The reform period followed by the proclamation of this act in history is known as a taiam.
