Gorgiev, Gjorgji M. (v. Gorna Bosheva, Kavadarechko, 5. IX 1940) – ethnomusicologist, scientific associate and UNIV. Professor (retired). Elementary school ended in Kavadarci (1955), a secondary music school in Skopje (1961), and a faculty of music – department of ethnomusicology (first generation) in a white city (1967), where he received his Ph.D. on the topic “Macedonian People’s Book IMPLEMENTATION “(15. ⅹ 1985), as the first doctor of music sciences at that faculty. He was an assistant, a scientific associate (1 ⅹ 1969 – 28. 1991) and ID. Director (29. ⅹ 1975 – 31. ⅴ 1976 and from 1990 – 23. 1991) at the Institute of Folklore in Skopje. Alongly, he was a freelance lecturer at the Faculty of Music Arts (1970-1990) and a visiting teacher at the faculties of music in Pristina and the But-you USA. Later, he transferred to a regular working attitude at the Faculty of Music in Skopje to his retirement (1991-2005), where he led the Department of Ethnamusicology and taught four teaching subjects. He was the president of the Association of Folkorists of Macedonia (1968- 1970).
