Dumica, Margarit (Ohrid, 1829-1903) – epigraphic and historian, specialist for ancient topography and geography. He studied in Ohrid, in Ioannina, and the University of Athens finished philology. The faculties in Leipzig and Berlin specialized classical philology, philosophy and archeology. He worked at the Gymnasium in Bitola and Thessaloniki. Through the study of ancient sources and epigraphic monuments, he is the first learned who wrote works for the ancient topography of Macedonia and exhaustively registered until then known stone monuments. He advocated the renewal of the Ohrid Archbishopric with autocephalous status after its closure, which he considered unfairly.
