Curson, Gorgi Tashkov (village Mallish, Bitola, 10. ⅳ 1930) – mathematician, order. Prof. The PMF (1972), correspondent (1979) and regular (1983) member of MANU. He graduated (1953) at the Faculty of Philosophy (Group Mathematics), where he was elected (1955) for an assistant. PhD (1959) on PMF with the theme “Attachment to the theory of algebraic structures”. During 1964 He stayed at the specialization of the University of Manchester, UK. The scientific interest of Dr. Gjorgji Coruna is in the field of algebra, especially the part of the Universal Algebra, which studies nation, vector-valuable and other similar structures. He published a hundred scientific papers. The cooperation realized with a series of mathematicians from the former Yugoslav region, as well as the large number of published joint papers, emphasized it as one of the leading algegrists in the SFRY. According to the achieved scientific results, he managed to make the Macedonian algebra recognizable and worldwide. Under its essential leadership, all our scientific staff in the field of algebra were built. The textbooks after Algebra and the textbooks of the Macedonians (1. 1913) the Technical Faculties on which he is author or co-authored, played an irreplaceable role in the rising of the algebraic and, wider, mathematical culture in the country.
