Atanasoski, Pece (Dolneni, Prilep, 25. ⅹ 1925 – Skopje, 14. IX. 1996) – Phone and instrumentalist, the most famous Macedonian Gaidar, and one of the most productive collectors of Macedonian folk songs and dances. He was professionally engaged in Radio Skopje (1946) and in the State Ensemble for People’s Songs and Games Pece Atanasoski “Tanec” in Skopje (1950). Since 1959 Until the retirement he was Head of the Orchestra of People’s Instruments in Radio Skopje and a choreographer of more than twenty Code in the Republic of Macedonia. Since 1966 Full 29 years managed the Folk School for Foreigners in Oteshevo. With its visits with various cultural and artistic societies around the world, it affirmed the high dignity of Macedonian melos. The holder is 19 international awards at the World Festivals in Langolal (England), Brno and other cities. In the competition of 1,800 gates of all over the world, he won the first place and the “Golden Cavid” award at the festival in Erich, Italy (1968). As a world-recognized people’s instrumentalist, he held hours at various universities in the world, from Los Angeles to Tokyo. There is a gathered imposing folklore collection of about 20,000 folk songs and dances. He died as director of the Dolnen Festival, whose founder was (1973), who is now named as a festival of folk instruments and songs “Pece Atanasoski” – p. Dolneni, Prilep (C).
