Aleksandrid (Roman for Alexander) – a popular medieval novel for Alexander ⅲ Macedonian. It occurs immediately after the death of Alexander; It is attributed to Pseudo-Kalisten, who in a fantastic way tells about the life and feats of Alexander the Great. Later versions translated from Greek in Latin, Armenian, Coptic and Syrian language are preserved. Many versions of various languages around the world have been made, and the oldest probably originated from Alexandria (ⅱ-and c. BC). Macedonian version of the Alexandrid from the second half of ⅹⅰⅹ c. It is contained in the “Slavic-Square General History” by F. M. Pulevski. In medieval Macedonian literature, as well as in other Slavic literature, an important place in the genre of novels occupies the novel known in the Slavistics with the title “Alexandrid”. In the medieval scholastic, new secular motifs in the cottage work, especially those with historical themes. The glorious Macedonian military leader gets the first place, for some of the reform of the Ritter manners, characteristic of the medieval feudal society, gives examples of the victories of Alexander the Great (365-323 BC). In the medieval novel, rich combat events and feats, mixed with fantastic insertions, with unusual and non-historical accessories, in order to attract the attention of the reader with unusual content. The basis of the novel is based on historical and literary sources, oral traditions and legends, whose traces lead to ⅱ-and c. The novel spread in the old Russian literature, and the most numerous transcripts experienced in medieval Serb literature, but spread across Europe and Asia, with the Scandinavian countries and east to India.
